Product Overview
Add a unique touch to your home with this Cushion Cover Wool 20in (51cm). Featuring original artwork by Damien, this design captures his country at Mt. Liebig, west of Papunya. The painting tells the story of Damien’s great grandfather and family travelling through the desert, collecting food, and camping along the way.
The design shows dry rockholes as red concentric circles, and water-filled rockholes as blue and white circles. The red stripes represent the family’s walking tracks through the sand. Spinifex bushes and cracked claypans also appear in the artwork, adding detail and life to the scene.
About the Artist
Damien is an Aboriginal artist deeply connected to his country around Mt. Liebig. His works reflect traditional stories and the landscapes of his ancestors.
The Dreaming Story
This design shares the journey of Damien’s family through the Central Desert. The red concentric circles mark dry rockholes, while blue and white ones show water-filled sites. Yellow star-like shapes represent spinifex bushes, and red lines are tracks made in the sand—marking a life deeply tied to country and its resources.
