Description
Product Overview
The Canvas Cushion Cover Digital 40cm – ECOSQU highlights the Red Squirrel, a small mammal native to Britain. Sadly, this species is now classed as “Near Threatened.” Its decline is due in part to the spread of the Grey Squirrel, introduced from America, and to the ongoing reduction of woodland habitats. As a result, the Red Squirrel has become a symbol of conservation efforts across the UK.
Nature and Story
Red Squirrels are found in pine forests larger than 50 hectares, as well as in mixed woodlands. These habitats provide food sources such as seeds, nuts, and fungi. However, habitat loss and competition from the Grey Squirrel have reduced their numbers. Because of this, the Red Squirrel design on this Canvas Cushion Cover is both decorative and meaningful. It reminds us of the importance of protecting native species and preserving their environments.
